Hellooooo everyone! Not sure where to start, do you prefer good news or bad news first? I am a rip the bandage off type of girl, give me the vinegar first so I can chase it with sugar. We will do the good first :) As you know, if you regularly read the weekly newsletter Jackson Galaxy was here last weekend. It was a packed house with over 100 people attending! A huge thank you to Beasley Broadcasting for running lots of PSA’s. Many People that came had never heard of us so we may get some local volunteers which would be awesome!

There will be a wine shipping special on Monday the 30th $10. flat shipping on all orders over $99. Watch for it on the next newsletter and on Facebook. This is a really good wine and would make a great present!
Now the sad news. As you know Treasure has been ill.
Sadly Monday after open house he stopped eating and clearly had had enough. It was time. We are happy with the knowledge that he had the last open house and spent his day being loved on. He wasn’t here for a long time but we hope he agreed that he got a life time of loving while he was here. Leukemia sucks. Click on the picture to enlarge
Bloopers with Jackson
Chance
Chance became ADR Saturday morning (ADR is actually a recognized term in vet’s offices. It means Aint’ doing right. (OY VAY) 3 hours until Jackson is to arrive and I am rushing to the vets office. Had them do blood work and brought him home, told them to call me with the results. I finally heard the results on my voice mail late Saturday night. He had something serious going on with his liver. Sunday morning at 7:30 am I am on the way to Raleigh because Chance is jaundiced. He was hospitalized, lots of tests run and they still do not know what is causing the problems. We are still waiting on some of the results. He is home on a feeding tube, getting lots of milk thistle (we have had cats with severe liver problems reverse with milk thistle)
Greta had dropped a pound in a week so she was taken to the vet. She is currently hospitalized while the vet tries to figure out what is going on with her. She will be coming home with another feeding tube.
Ray was hospitalized this week because he had also dropped some weight. The cats are weighed every week, that is how we know if there is a weight loss. He has an infection going on and is home on antibiotics and nutrical
On the good news side, Casey had regained all the weight she had lost. Snicker is doing well. Autumn is developing cataracts. I suspect that is from all the radiation. She is hanging in there. On the crazy side. The 4 FIV+ cats that tested FELV+ all tested IFA positive too, so they really are FELV+ We vaccinated the entire room for FELV and will test them each time they go to the vet. 10 of them have lived together for 4 years, 6 are negative, 4 are positive. We will leave them together. The room is full and no more cats will be coming in.
