We have a new contest coming up, voting starts on 5/20 I do not have the links yet, please watch for another email. I have been asked by several if we are in the Animal Rescue Site contest. We are NOT. To be eligible for the shelter challenge you must be active on Petfinder.org Petfinder has a rule that you must be an adoption agency, which we are not. We are a life time care sanctuary and so we have been removed from Petfinder. Greater Good owns Animal Rescue site. They have an arrangement with us that they provide content and items for sale and we post them on our Facebook page. When you click on the links and read the content or purchase one of the items, they pay us a donation. The donation is more than the prize money so we are happy with the arrangement.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
I read an article in the 1000 pieces of email each day that donors and supporters like to know our privacy policy. We would never ever sell your names, or email address’s to any one. Heck I would not know how to if I wanted to... so, your names, etc are very safe with us.
Sasha Shouts “THANK YOU!” for helping the blind, FIV & FELV+ cats by picking Blind Cat Rescue and shopping through http://smile.amazon.com when you shop on Amazon. They donated $1858.25 last quarter to the cats! It cost you nothing and helps the cats! :)
Check it out, my hair is growing back. Shocked at how much salt verses pepper there is. Big Mack in my arms
Honey & Oreo say thank you for all the gifts from our Amazon wish list! Amazon never gives us your contact info so please forgive us for not personally thanking you. Often there is no name or even a packing slip. Please know how grateful we are to you for your kindness!
Cat Updates!
Casey went to Raleigh yesterday for new blood work and x-rays. The vet was happy with her improvement. She has gain a little bit of weight, her white count is improving, and the x-rays look better. The mass is still there, but it is smaller. The vet is now thinking that she has maybe some how gotten a cyst in her lungs. She may be on antibiotics for a long time.
Earnest is improving on the Polyprenyl Immunostimulant and Interferon. His blood work looks better too. Protein albumin globulin
ranges 6.3-8.8 2.6-3.9 3.0-5.9
4/1 9.0 2.3 6.7
4/23 9.8 2.2 7.6 5/13 8.8 2.3 6.7 We are very happy with his numbers, they have improved from 3 weeks ago and are not any higher than they were when we started this FIP battle. Also his x-rays look improved. You can see more definition of organs now. So long as the FIP stays dry we can keep battling this disease. His weight if holding steady.
Cookie got another dental. Remember what I said about having a vet that has the knowledge and equipment to properly do a dental? Our regular vet has neither. She did an emergency dental on Cookie when she first came in because her mouth was such a mess and she was in so much pain and the dentist was out of town. The dentist did another dental and removed the roots that Vet A left and 2 more teeth that has absorption cysts. She appears to be feeling much better.
Abbey, Sterling, Smudge & Marge are all going in for dentals on 5/26 & 5/27
Ray’s eyes are leaking and have opened up. He is going in June to have them re-opened, cleaned out and re-sewn.
Autumn is handing in there. She has her good days and her bad days, but not getting worse.
Tabitha has moved into her room, her eye is draining so I suspect I will be taking her to Raleigh to get her eyes done again. The regular vet has probably missed ocular tissue. I wish we could find a super good general vet in our area.
We were blessed with the girl scouts coming out 2 Saturdays to help out and play with the cats! Thank you to all that shared so generously with your time!
