Meet Amy, Jane & Sarah
These 3 wonderful ladies came to visit and help for a week!  We have  a guest house available for out of town people wanting to come visit and help :)    We loved having them visit and are so grateful for all the help they gave us!!
I asked them to write an article for you about their visit.  We hope you enjoy!
This is our 2nd visit to BCR.  I wanted to come back again because I love these cats!   There's no better feeling in the world than walking in to a room and all the sweet little faces run over to greet you.  The cats love to sit with you and petting them is very relaxing, instantly making you forget about all going on in the world today.  Alana and all the wonderful staff are very welcoming and I enjoyed talking with them. Conveniently we stayed at the guest house on site which was really nice because we were able to walk back there whenever we wanted.  There was plenty of room for the 3 of us with 3 bedrooms,  2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms and a kitchen.  It was so much more convenient than driving back and forth to a motel.  I was glad to be able to help out cleaning the rooms, doing chat and boxes,  and even got to do a few live tours on Facebook.  Although there is a lot of cleaning to be done you leave feeling like you have accomplished something and helped out the beautiful kitties.  In the afternoon we went room to room and sat with all the cats and brushed and played with them and of course take lots of pictures.  I've never seen such friendly cats anywhere.  I came with a goal of petting the elusive Cassie and Liza, and did get to pet Cassie, but not Liza.  I did get fairly close to Liza, she had a least one eye on me the whole time, but not close enough pet her.  I also got kisses from Ella which was very special too while also spending time with my favorite cats, all 90 of them.  I was also glad to meet the new cats that were added since our last visit and spend sometime with Colonel before he passed. I want to thank Alana for opening up this opportunity for us to come and visit and be able to spend time with the cats.  I have learned so much more about cats from Alana, especially regarding FELV+ and FIV+ cats.  We were glad to be able to spend our vacation at BCR and help out with what we could. There is no better place for a crazy cat lady to be! This one is from Jane. I came to BCR last year for a vacation/trip to the beach.  The guesthouse was a pleasant surprise, roomy with modern conveniences (2 coffee pots).  You are welcome to stay at the guest house in exchange for volunteering at BCR.  We usually started around 8:15 am and worked until around 11 am. The work consisted of wiping down the kuranda's, shoveling litter boxes, sweeping and mopping the floors inside and out.  All the while you are working among a room full of kitties  who sometimes look like they are inspecting how well you clean!  Speaking of clean, Alana and company keep the place ship shape. There are full time and part time employees and a few volunteers.  The first few days we volunteered the helpful staff supplied us with guidance to what needs to be done.  The afternoon and rest of the night is yours to just relax with the kitties and join in with chat and boxes. If you need a break from life in general, BCR is a great place to be.    The blind cats are amazing and seem to have super spidey senses.  You sit in the middle of the floor and soon you will have several kitties all you.  Cats have been proven to lower blood pressure and seem to know how you are feeling.  They seem to love unconditionally.
This is from Amy:
Dan, Suzanne, Dawn, Seth, Fiona and Katherine came for open house and held a special dance party fund raiser.  They raised $1275 for the cats!!  Thank you guys so much for your hard work!! Thank you so much to everyone who donated to help!!
