Meet Mini-Mack!
Mini is a fun friendly little FELV+ kitty who
was rescued in SC before he was to be
euthanized. Another soul that gets to have
a future thanks to your support!
He is a very busy fellow who loves to play. We
named him Mini Mack because he looks like a
miniature version of big Mack.

Meet Bunny
Bonnie came to us from a Local Animal Control. She was very lucky
the shelter vet happens to be one of our supporters (Hi Amanda!)
and contacted us. She has a congenital deformity called
atrophic rhinitis. Her nose looks like a bunny nose, thus the
name Bunny.
She also has many symptoms of a Cerebellar Hypoplasia kitty.
Our vet feels she does have a mild case.
What is Cerebellar Hypoplasia you ask? (smile) It is a disorder
found in cats and dogs that causes jerky movements, tremors
and generally uncoordinated motions. They sometimes will fall
down and has trouble walking.
Cerebellar Hypoplasia occurs when the cerebellum, the
part of the brain that controls fine motor skills and coordination,
is not completely mature at birth. It is commonly caused by
the kittens mother contracting or being vaccinated for the
Panleukopenia virus while pregnant. That stunts their cerebellum’s
growth while in the womb. It can also occur is a trauma,
including malnutrition occurs to the kittens while in the womb.
She is Not in any pain. Is Not contagious, can live a normal
happy life. She is very loving except she is not fond of other cats.
She has now been spayed and had a dental to fix her
broken tooth.
All in all, she is in decent shape.

Shelter Challenge News
Thank you to everyone that
played the Charity Bracket!
We did not win the $50,000 grand prize BUT a shocking late
throw from the 3 point line had us win the $50,000 random
drawing!! A huge Thank you to Liz Bode for entering
and picking us as her charity!
They will not give us the money until the end of the year.
That gives us time to decide how to best utilize this wonderful
gift!
Cat Updates
RIP Tiffany. Sweet Tiffany came to us 2 years ago after living
as a stray on the streets of Miami. Being FELV+ she had zero chance
at animal control. She would have been euthanized. We were lucky
to have had 2 years with her. She was a very sweet cat and will be
missed. Your support helped us save her live, Thank you for helping us!
Stevie’s reports from Raleigh all came back negative
for cancer! YEAH!! He does have really bad
Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
What is Inflammatory Bowel Disease?
It is not a single disease but a group of chronic disorders
affecting a cats gastrointestinal tract. It is often called
triad disease.

We are continuing to try to help him with diet
and medication.

Stevie
Bob is an FELV+ kitty who came to us from
Animal Control in Tennessee. He was out of
time and there was no place for him to go.
Your support made it so we could say yes to
saving his life.
Bob is struggling with his health, he has been
hospitalized several times with a high fever
of unknown origin. We are going to love
on him for the time he has.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need a few people who can write good content/stories
about our cats for our website, blog, newsletter & social
media. If you like to write and would like to contribute
articles, please email alana@blindcatrescue.com
and please send a sample if you can.

generously donated to my birthday fundraiser
for the cats!! You helped raise $2234 for
the building fund!
Visit the cats?
We have staff here for visitors Monday - Saturday until
4pm if you would like to come play with them.
You do not have to wait until open house. If you would
like to come help us clean and then play, we start at 8:30 am.
If you would just like to play, we ask that you wait until after
noon to give the staff time to finish the cleaning.
